Chowa

Chowa is the philosophy of life that leads us to seek happiness in all aspects of our daily lives. It is that kind of happiness that comes from being at peace with everything around you.

Do you know what ikigai means? It is one’s reason for being or purpose. Kibo’s ikigai is to make everyone enjoy Japanese cuisine. In other words, it is a restaurant that wants to make its culture accessible. And for this, it seeks harmony between the purity of Japan and the light of the Mediterranean. Between silence and hustle. Between the discipline of the kitchen and the closeness of the dining room. Because maintaining balance not only makes us happy: it also makes others happy.

Behind Kibo are Álvaro and Yayi, a young couple with complementary personalities. He manages the dining room, she works in the kitchen, and both share a passion for gastronomy. Their restaurant conveys honesty, being a completely open space where the kitchen connects with the dining area and the room is illuminated thanks to the large window. So, at Kibo, diners relax and have fun. They enjoy the food, but also the conversation. Because they like to eat, but above all, they come to be happy.
